Just four games to go of a turbulent season and the Hammers head off to a ground they have not seen a win at since 1963. Coupled with that, West Ham have not won away since the opening day of the season and Liverpool are un-beaten in their last nine at home. Hammers away win it is then! Well, the chances of getting some kind of result are greatly enhanced by the news that Mr Torres is out, he was the main difference between the sides in our last meeting in September when Hines ran Carragher ragged.
Results did not go too well for us over the weekend, especially with Wigan’s victory pushing them clear of the dreaded dotted line. But with Hull gaining a point, we certainly need to go out for a result here, a draw could provide a crucial point for us. Coming on the back of our win against Sunderland and a draw at the Toffees, we should not be short of confidence.
As for the line up, Scotty P is still serving his suspension and the other sicknotes are not thought to have made a huge recovery. My main change would be Diamanti for Stanislas, I’ve just not seen Junior add anything to the team in his appearances, even if the results have gone well. My line up would be;
Green
Daprela – Upson – Da Costa - Faubert
Diamanti – Noble – Kovac – Behrami
Cole – Ilan
Bench: Stetch, Franco, Stanislas, Spector, Spence, Gabbidon and Mido
Having failed for over 30 years, it might be overly optimistic for me to suggest we get a win tonight, but I do have a sneaking feeling we will do ourselves proud. With Torres out and Liverpool with one eye on Thursday’s Europa league match, now is as good a time as any to change history. Come on you Irons!!!
