I'm hearing a couple of strong rumours about new signings to be unveiled at Upton Park. First up is left back Stephen Warnock from Aston Villa. Warnock was the name on everyones lips a few seasons with some very assured appearances. Since then he has somewhat fallen off the radar but if anyone can get him back on form, then big Sam can. As a free transfer, this is a good signing for us.
Secondly, out of nowhere we appear to be on the verge of signing Austrian captain Emmanuel Pogatetz. You may remember him form his 123 apperances for Middlesbrough, a no nonsense centre half in the Tomas Repka mould. Again it is an area where we really need some cover, so it makes sense, and for the apprent £500,000 fee, could be another nice bit of business.
Overall, if you can get these two deals done, we are looking much stronger. I have a suspicion that if another striker becomes available, then Sam might strike but apart from that, it would appear most of our business is getting done before the deadline.

Agree! The other defender who was talked about at the beginning of the season was Solley from Charlton. We could do a lot worse than bring him in.
