Perhaps someone thought we'd be part of the big four, as it's super dooper Sunday on Sky this weekend, but unfortunately we are 'repping' the bottom three rather than being part of the big boys party. In only our fourth home game of the season, it's a big derby against Arsenal, and many Hammers fans seems nervous about this one. Rather bizzarely, I'm feeling less so. The one thing we have not been is trounced by anyway this season and only Man City have beaten us by more than one goal in the league. This game is a perfect opportunity to show if we've got the fight in us or whether we are going to struggle with a whimper. I'm more curious as to seeing if we are as bad as the results have gone or if we just need to turn the corner with a bit of luck.
We were in control of the Fulham and to some extent the Spurs games until mistakes let those teams back in it. On Sunday, we must be focussed and everyone has to work very hard for each other. There is no reason to doubt the team spirit at the moment in spite of the results and this game is a real test to see how strong it is.
As for Arsenal, they are a team I do always have time, unlike their neighbours down the Seven Sisters Road with whom we share a deep disdain of. But some of their football over the years has been great to watch and they have some very talented players in the team. Fortunately for us, one of them, Theo Walcott, will miss this one, but there is still plenty of pace and guile and the midfield will have to be well on top of Fabregas and Arshavin.
As for the team, I find it dis-heartening to read fans having a go at Diamanti already. Even Behrami looked lost in his first few games, give the guy a break. He only has Parker next to him in terms of fighting spirit and it's something we really need at the moment. Once again I'd go 442 and see if Hines can give Gallas a bit of a run around. So the line up would be;
Green
Illunga - Upson - Tomkins - Faubert
Collison - Parker - Behrami - Diamanti
Cole - Hines
Bench: Kurucz, Noble, Spector, Gabbidon, Stanislas, Jiminez, and Nouble
I think this is our best chance of doing some damage, but it's going to be a tough game.
Key Man: Collison could be suitably fired up for this one and back from his injury, he could have a key role
Key Opponent: Quite a few to choose from but if we can keep Van Persie quiet, it may be our day
Prediction: Wow, what a tough one, my head is thinking we could get mullered, Arsenal have dished out some serious beatings to the likes of Everton and Blackburn, and we will do well to avoid the same. I'm pleading the fifth on this one!
It's going to be a tough weekend and it won't get much easier next weekend with a visit to the beach ballers, I hope we can come away with our pride in-tact, come on you Irons!!!!!!!

Bollox, your team is shit!

Voges stop giving arsenal fans a bad name! Most Arsenal fans including me, know too well that anything can happen in a london derby and west ham away is never an easy fixture for us. It seems you are the only one being arrogant!!

I too agree that were it not for laps in concentration, or some temporary stupidity by certain defenders, ie Upson and Faubert then we should of been looking at wins rather than losses, but unless we really press arsenal from the off, and change the tactics abit, I think I'd be very happy if we managed a draw, Cole holds the ball up well but he is never going to score us twenty goals a Season, lets be honest, we need a Clinical finisher up front next to him and who that is right now I don't know? If I was Zola, I would start the first half, Cole up front on his own in a 1-5-4-1 formation, with Jimenez playing in the middle, and then in the second half I would take off Cole,Jimenez and Noble, and change it to a 2-5-3-1 formation, and bring on Hines and Franco up front with Diamantri tucked in just behind the front two in place of them, I think Variety is the spice of life and changing it around with new players and a new offensive in the second half might just produce some unsettlement in the arsenal ranks and a win for us.

Voges is a homosexual. You'd like to get spanked right? By your dad? Or is he dead?

Well can the hapless hammers do the might of Tottenham Hotspur a favour and get something out of arsanal - sadly not and how many the scum win by is the question. On the subject of the anal the real derby is just around the corner - we'll fucking batter the running goons of the pitch - that's if the ghost firm grow some balls and challenge the Yid Army (even are youth would have there firm running scared) - I think not. With regards on the pitch when did the anal last beat Spurs hmmm......
