It's never dull down the East end. Firstly Max Clifford allegedly states on an interview with Talksport that West Ham will be sold by the end of the week. He was on-air for a completely un-related item but apparently chipped in with this at the end. Not quite sure what to make it, he is certainly a well-connected gentleman but also a little mischievous, just don't know what to make of it.
Secondly, Chelsea have sacked their manager, Luiz Felipe Scolari. Normally this would not affect the Hammers, were it not for the fact that two Chelsea legends are currently in charge of our team and doing rather well. Fortunately, I think the timing is good for us - were this the Summer, after Zola and Clarke had taken us to a FA Cup Final and a top 6 finish in their first season, eyes would have certainly been on them. However, I don't think Chelsea can take the risk right now on the back of a 8 game un-beaten run, they will surely have to look for more experience, with games such as Juventus coming up for Chelsea. Guss Hiddink is the apparent early favourite, let's hope he goes there and the whole thing doesn't cause consternation at Upton Park.
So, interesting week ahead. While I'm here I might as well reflect on the Man United game yesterday. if we were to put our great run to an end, I'd rather it was to be the best team in the country as opposed to anyone else, and that was the case. We gave a good account ourselves and everyone can hold their heads up high following the performance. It will be good, however, to get back to winning ways this Saturday in the FA Cup against Boro.
