West ham have beaten Columbus Crew 3-1 in the first match of their US tour, with Ashton and Kyle Reid on the scoresheet. This definitely means we will win the league. Of course it doesn't and anyone who looks into pre-season results too much needs their head examined. It's nice to win, it's good to hear Bellamy had a good game, it's great that Faubert had a run out, but really, it's friendly at the end of the day, so let's not get too excited. There will probably be more interest for the MLS game on Thursday for those of us watching it on Setanta, be good to how things are shaping up. For now, you can get a minute by minute account of the Columbus victory at the Hammers site
Update: meanwhile back in London, Kieron Dyer continues his unique version of pre-season training

Yes it's just a friendly, and it's not somethimg to get too excited about, but if we were to lose all the friendlies, there would be concerns. These matches are to get the players ready for next season, which does have importance to it towards thier fitness and preparation.
