Sir Alan of Curbishley is joint second favourite at 7/1 in the betting to be the first Premiership manager to get the chop in the new season. Beaten only be perennial optimist Kevin Keegan and in joint second with, rather worringly, purveyour of dour football, Gary Megson.
It's an interesting reflection on the state of affairs at Upton Park, in spite of a safe, mid table spot last season, one wonder whether it was a castle built on sand. Curbs definitely needs a good start to the season, with the fully fit squad he spent all of last season harping on about and a kind fixture list which hands us a decent start. Failure to do so could mean a little flutter now could reap rewards....

PS My tip is actually the Ince to be named Manager of the month during the season at 7/2, not a bad bet I reckon...

WHU top by xmas. Keegan sacked by xmas. Arsenal in bottom 3 by xmas. Man u mid table by xmas. No this isnt a wish list its a prediction, and im rarely wrong, was wrong once in 1979 didnt like it.

What's needed is Slaven Bilic to return to West Ham as Manager, shake out the sloppy players and get the passion and passing football back into WHU

Whats all this tosh about bring back Bilic?
Now I like the guy, both as a player and a manager, but he has zero experience in club management and very little in Premiership (which has changed more than that fella who sung in Dead or Alive, since Slaven was involved!)
Give Curbishley the benefit of the doubt and let him have a season without a dozen injuries every week and lets see what happens?
Given that all teams we appear to and want to be competing with (Villa, Spuds, Everton etc.) are all spending big money this season, any progress on last seasons respectable but dissapointing 10th will be good.
PS> As for Ince and Manager of the Month??? You were kidding weren't you?

Curbs record speaks for itself he's done nothing and never will do anything significant in football with any club and any amount of money available, he'll sign mediocre-poor crap has been rubbish and whinge, I for one am sick of hearing the excuses week in week out, the newly promoted clubs will have more disire and passion and something to prove especially when they play WestHam home and away and in my opinion will turn us over and deservedly so, it's going to take this for everyone to wake up and see what a tosser he really is and stop going on about giving him a chance with a fit squad, even with a fit squad he still doesnt know what he's doing, he will still play Cole and they way things are going LBM will still be at the club, Curbs you have to give "manure" away these days it's pennies a bag no-one pays money for crap, unless your name is Alan of course....You Dont Know What you're doing!!!!!!

I for one am sick of hearing from so called hammers fans how Curbs is no good. As a club we have always given managers a chance. Lets get behind the manager and give him a full season to prove himself. It might help if the board were to come out say they were actively trying to strengthen the team instead of all the negativity that is coming out of the club. Come on Curbs prove all these so called supporters wrong.
