West ham have been once again linked with out of favour Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnsen. Gudjohnsen, 29, has apparently been told he can leave Barcelona and this has sparked the interest of a number of Premiership clubs, including the Hammers. So, do we fancy a bit more Icelandic input at Upton Park?
Last season, I was very excited by the rumour, Gudjohnsen always impressed me at Chelsea with his hard work and clinical finishing. However, his time at the Catalan club has not exactly been a goal fest with 14 goals in 78 appearances. Having said that, a number of players have moved there and become stale so it would be hard to completely judge him on this. I’m not sure what kind of numbers are being cited here, but for £6/7 million, I think he would be worth a punt, if the numbers move into double figures then I’d say we should look elsewhere. But a fit strikeforce of Ashton, Bellamy and Gudjohnsen sounds pretty good to me.
I also understand that Fulham are inviting offers for Jimmy Bullard. Having let the lad go and missed out when Wigan sold him, I think the Hammers should snap him up. He shouldn’t cost a ridiculous amount and he would be a great addition to our midfield and can easily replace Mullins who in my view should leave Upton Park. Bullard’s energy, passing and eye for goal would be a great addition for us.
That’s the rumour mill for now…
Update: I'm hearing word of us going for Stephen Carr....I sincerely hope this is a joke, is Curbishley buying players so that he actually has an injury crisis? Carr, whilst a decent player, has had a career ravaged by injury and would siply be another addition to the treatment table, I can't believe our owners would allow this to happem and hope it is agent talk.

We had Bullard and let him go.
I think that was a good decision!
Leave him at Fulham.
We already have Noble + Parker for our centre midfield.
Replace mediocre Mullins with mediocre Bullard would be stupid.

Why does everyone want Mullins to leave!!! He's was great last season and Curbs showed he had faith in him by often playing him instead of Noble. I'm not saying that I don't want Bullard, he has been one of the players that I hacve wanted West Ham to sign for a while, but for god sake will everyone get off Mullins' back!!

Keep Mullins for gods sake, he is one of the unsung heroes.
Definately bring in Bullard, we all know you get a little bit extra from a boyhood fan, and whilst Mark Noble is the future, we shouldn't rely on his young shoulders as much as we have.
Bye Bye LBM, Freddie, Quashie, Pantsil.....

Bullard for Mullins! You muppet.
They both are midfielders and that is the end of the comparison.
Put Simply, Mullins holds, Bullard pushes forward. End of.
We all love flair and attacking play, and at West Ham we love too much.
No one at the club does what Mullins does, and poor old Jimmy can't do it either.
In the dozen years West Ham have had Lomas, Foe and a handful of ill-suited defenders
in front of the back four.
So in the grand scheme of things Mullins is not great, but he is the best WE have in that position.
Don't Sell Him.

I've always given Mullins the benefit of the doubt and I'm sure he does a job but it's all just far too neagtive for me. He is not even an exceptional tackler, Mark Noble is much more tiger-ish in that role, which could free up the creativity of Bullard and Parker.

I SHALL RETURN!! This blog has been difficult for me to post given the nature of my confession. I was a happy hammer in years gone by but decided to switch to the bridge once roman came in with the rubels, and boy I have enjoyed the glory hunt tagging along with chelsea. But time is up, they won nuffink this year and got done by spurs at wembley. So... If "we" (west ham) can keep Ashton and get Belamy and Dyre fit and playing I am sure to return to upton park (as it was called when I was a junior hammer)...I'm forever blowing.....!!!

West ham need to sign a decent striker to play upfront with Ashton they need a good attacking midfielder (to replace Mullins) they should have signed Samir Nasri before Arsenal did. Bullard would be a great signing for the hammers because he would be able to actually pass the ball unlike most of the west ham players. The hammers need to get some flair players which will make west ham's football entertaining to watch. West Ham NEED!! to sign Euidur gudjonson imagine how many goals West ham would score with a striking duo of Ashton and Gudjonson!! SIGN STEWART DOWNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What was I thinking! West ham are now playing like brazil and are brilliant to watch. It would be so cool if we qualified for the UEFA cup! In the summer we should buy a new striker (not gudjonson!) incase Ashton gets injured again. For example someone like Darren Bent who is top class and isn't wanted by tottenham. Mikel Arteta is the kind of player we need in our team for a bit of quality and class. Zola's done a great job at west ham considering where they were when he took over. He's also bought a great young talent in Savio! West ham's kits are getting better every season!
