Don't get too excited, it's not a big one, but according to KUMB.com, the Hammers are set to sign Hólmar Örn Eyjólfsson, a teenager from Iceland who can play at centre back or holding in the midfield (does this mean we are getting rid of Mullins?). The youngster is apparently highly rated and appears in the nations Under 21 side.
But it would seem he is one for the future and let's hope we are attracting some more high profile signings soon. I think Spurs's signing of Luka Modric from example is a great deal, and could push the whinging North London scum ahead of us in the league. We need to make sure we are keeping up and with the squad we have, even fully fit, I'm not wholly confident that will happen.

This high profile signing shows the great wealth and ambition long associated with wet spam.. londons greatest team of wannabees

this does sound like mullins is going. they said he was going to charlton at the beggining of last season so it would not be a surprise if he did go. as for the new teenager; it sounds like the icelandic revolution has begun. gudjohnson has long been mentioned and hopefully nani can bring in some top draw players too! up the irons!

It does worry me when the likes of Spurs and Bolton are spending money on top rated players, while we're being linked with the likes of James Harper,Kevin Doyle,Andrew Johnson and Aaron Lennon. Our current squad just isn't good enough to maintain a serious challenge in the league, and i can see us finishing in the bottom half of the table this season unless money is spent on big names.

It doesn't worry me because it's just stupid newspaper trash spewed out over and over again.

i agree , what happened to this new owner that had big money and wanted to spend it on good young players that will boost are team in to the top 6 . Im getting worryed that it seemed it was all talk and that we are going to be a OAP club for those players who are at the end. sorry to say it , i hope im proved wrong on this one .

If we spend too big we will end up like Leeds, just look what our club has been through over the years, and now some people want success over night. The owner is sensible and didnt say we will be top six or whatever over night. It will take time

Thanks for your comments (except for the Spurs muppet and what are you doing on a West Ham site anyway?).
I really don't think we can expect any big signings this Summer, last Summer was the spree and that is where the problem will lie. There will be no longevity in a team revolving around Lucas Neill, Ljungberg, Boa-Morte and the perpetually injured Dyer. Only Upson and Bellamy are likely to be up for the task with the jury still out on Faubert.
We really need to get rid of some players who are no better than average and for me that includes Mullins, LBM, Cole and possibly Zamora. Neill and Ljungberg are possibly included in that but there is no way they are likely to get as good contracts elsewhere so they may as well stay. But I really fear that 2 or 3 months in, we will start to struggle and will have to wait until Jan to re-build. But that's okay as it will be Billic re-building...

I personally don't think we will struggle, and do believe there will be some signings aswell as goings. Most of the transfer frenzy doesn't start until the closing weeks. Although the club apparently said there will be no big signings doesn't mean there won't be. Cloak n dagger comes to mind. We have to remember that we still have that aggro with that Sheffield united lot, so we must get this saga out the way aswell.

top 4 bottom 4 middle 4
only 3 trophys that west ham can win next year
premier league - million to 1
fa cup 100-1 (don't expect anyone but big 4 or maybe spurs villa or everton to be in final)
league cup - more realistic 25-1. spurs won last year and it is a trophy so shouldn't be belittled.
anyway unlikely the likes of spurs will have another bad season so i'd be surprised if west ham finish above them - in all honesty they wouldn't have done if spurs hadn't stopped playing after they won the league cup.
interested to see new signings though - but is any half decent player really going to choose west ham over spurs or any other team in europe? west ham will buy and develop youth players.
and sad as it is prem league uncompetitive at both ends. top 4 pretty much guaranteed - bottom 3 - hull, stoke +1 from west brom fulham wigan and bolton.
