Well there have been a few reports in the papers in the past day or two linking us with Steve Sidwell in the Summer for £5million. It's been hard to judge the lad this season as his appearances for Chelsea have been occasional at best. But at Reading he was certainly a decent player and he has not disgraced himself for the Blues when he has turned out.
As a player I guess he is closest to Scott Parker in terms of an attacking midfielder who can adjust to defensive when required and I certainly don't think we can count on Parker's fitness all the time. However, I do think there is room to get rid of someone else in the Summer as well, as things are getting a bit congested in there.
So, of Dyer, Ljungberg, Etherington, Parker, Noble, Bowyer, Mullins, Boa-Morte, Solano and Faubert, who would be most willing to give a one way ticket to this Summer. Actually, let's take Boa-Morte as read, who would be your second choice?!
Update: Thanks for your comments so far, i'd have to agree that Bowyer is likely to be suprlus to requirements next season, I do think the Championship beckons. Would have to disagree with those who think Matt Etherington should go, at the very leaast he is a vey good squad player. Keep your comments coming...

Bowyer, Etherington, Boa-Morte. Solano still has a year, does very well with set pieces, could be valuable as a sub.

Etherington (lacks confidence especially in front of goal)
Bowyer (great at getting into goal scoring positions, but thats all, now too slow)
Boa Morte (tries hard but past his best)

Mullins, Bowyer, Ehters and Nobby have served us well this year, lets not forget that. Although our midfield has bags of potential, its full of crocks ... Dyer, Parker and Freddie have an endless list of injuries that would relegate any premiership side if they were spread amongst the team. Add Belamy to the equation and you can see why Eggy probably got his marching orders. However next season the likes of Sidwell would bring a steady and solid record to the Irons midfield. Lets be honest here, cover at full back, on the left and a fit top draw striker are what we are missing. Add a top draw player like Gudjohnson to Bellars, Deano and Zamora, or either Defoe or Bent. I'd let Cole go and the Likes of Quasie, Daily, Camara, Pantsil and Davs are where we need to trim the wage bill. Spectre, Mullins Bowyer, LBM, Nobby and Ethers are all top squad players to have next season if we are to threaten the top six.

boa morte should go but you cant get rid of etherington he is one of our best players and who would you put on the left

on the departure of ethers I would play ljungberg
left for now and try to sign n'zogbia for that position who would be a key signing in my view
and cover for left back.

I'm not sure about Sidwell, I heard he was massively over-rated at Reading, a little like Reo-Coker was at us. Can't say it would be a bad signing though, I just wonder if there are better players out there for the same money? I think we would be better off investing in a new left winger.
Bowyer should leave next season, Solano is only contracted to the end of the summer and I'm not sure if curbs will renew it or not. We would probably get a couple of million for Etherington, in which case I think we should get rid.
